How Overtime & Holiday Pay Is Computed in the Philippines

Enter your monthly basic salary and SweldoSense derives your daily rate (salary ÷ 21.75) and hourly rate (daily ÷ 8) using the official DOLE factor under RA 9292. Select the day type — regular day, special non-working holiday, regular holiday, rest day, or combined rest day + holiday — then enter regular hours, overtime hours, and optional night differential (10pm–6am) hours.

Overtime pay applies the day-type multiplier first, then the overtime multiplier (for example, 1.25× on a regular day or 1.30× on top of a holiday rate). Night differential adds 10% of the applicable hourly rate for each ND hour, stacked on day multipliers for regular ND and on day × OT multipliers for ND during overtime.

Shift pay figures are estimates based on Labor Code rules. Actual employer payroll policies, CBAs, and DOLE orders may vary.

Overtime & Holiday Pay — Frequently Asked Questions

How is overtime pay calculated in the Philippines?

Overtime pay equals hourly rate × overtime hours × day-type multiplier × OT multiplier. On a regular day, the OT rate is typically 125% of hourly pay (1.25×). On a regular holiday, base pay is 200% and overtime stacks an additional premium on top of the holiday rate per Labor Code rules.

What is the DOLE 21.75 factor for daily rate?

Monthly basic salary divided by 21.75 gives the daily rate under DOLE guidelines (RA 9292). Hourly rate is daily rate divided by 8 hours. SweldoSense uses this factor automatically when you enter your monthly basic salary.

How much is night differential pay in the Philippines?

Night differential is an additional 10% of the applicable hourly rate for each hour worked between 10pm and 6am. It stacks on the day-type rate for regular ND hours, and on the day × OT rate for ND hours worked during overtime.

What is the pay rate on a regular holiday?

For work performed on a regular holiday, the base day rate is typically 200% of the ordinary hourly rate (2.00×). Overtime on a holiday applies an additional OT premium (commonly 1.30×) on top of the holiday rate. Rest day + holiday combinations use higher combined multipliers.
